I originally was scheduled to have a BCC removed from my scalp and a skin graph done to cover up. However fortunately I went to see Professor Ali and he informed me of the Mohs surgery that not only reduces the need for skin graph and visual appearance is better, it also has a higher success rate of removing the cancer. I spent a day with Professor Ali and his staff having a procedure to remove skin cancer from my temple. It was removed in stages so as to minimise scarring. A small piece of skin was removed each time, then analysed. This happened 3 times throughout the day until all the cancerous skin had been removed. On 13 August I had the Mohs Micrographical Surgery and a skin graph from my right shoulder to aid the recovery at Discover Laser Clinic at Burnley. A week later Doctor Ali changed the dressing at the Spire Hospital in Manchester.
